In the power tools pipe cutting project, (hereinafter referred to as power tools) are often used as cold pipe cutting tools and water cutting groove tools for construction. Milling blades are the main working parts and engineering consumables for pipe cutting. Therefore, extending the life of power tools has become an important means. The following is a brief introduction to the working process of the milling inserts of power tools, in order to truly understand how to use and extend the use time.
There are two working states of milling inserts of power tools: one is down milling and the other is up milling. Among them, up-milling is the state when power tools are initially cut into the pipe in the pipe cutting project. The direction of milling cutter rotation is opposite to the direction of workpiece feed. When milling, the cutting thickness of each tooth gradually changes from zero to the maximum and then cut out, which is called up-milling. Climbing milling is when the rotation direction of the milling cutter is the same as the feed direction of the workpiece. During milling, the cutting thickness of each tooth gradually decreases from the maximum to zero. This is called down milling, and it often occurs when power tools are in the end of pipe cutting. In power tools pipe cutting, it is always a straight cutting action.
