MODEL 300 POWER DRIVE
Power drive is a special tool covering permanent magnet brushless motor, precision component—controller, chuck handle wheel, rear chuck, foot switch and tripod stand. It can be an electrical threading machine by assembling cutter, reamer, die heads, also it can be an electrical roll grooving machine by mounting manual grooving machine.
PRODUCT MAIN PARTS
● Motor
This is a permanent magnet brushless motor, brushless DC electric motor (BLDC motor or BL motor), also known as electronically commutated motor (ECM or EC motor) and synchronous DC motors, are synchronous motors powered by direct current (DC) electricity via an inverter or switching power supply which produces electricity in the form of alternating current (AC) to drive each phase of the motor via a closed loop controller. The controller provides pulses of current to the motor windings that control the speed and torque of the motor. The construction of a brushless motor system is typically similar to a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), but can also be a switched reluctance motor, or an induction (asynchronous) motor. They may also use neodymium magnets and be out runners (the stator is surrounded by the rotor) or in runners (the rotor is surrounded by the stator). The advantages of a brushless motor over brushed motors are high power-to-weight ratio, high speed, electronic control, and low maintenance.
● Controller
Controller is a precision electrical component, it is the key part to protect motor from burning. It has 25 kinds of protection functions such as overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, overheat, overload, external alarm, short circuit, motor leakage. The operation instructions through panel control and terminal control such as operation direction switching, low-speed high-speed switching, operation direction and low-speed indication. Brushless motor must rely on the controller to automatically switch the phase to drive the motor. At the same time, it can automatically adjust the output current according to the load to ensure the motor works at a constant speed.
● Foot switch
This is heavy thickness cast aluminum foot switch includes a rotary locking cord strain relief. Non-slip base pads prevent foot switch from sliding on smooth surfaces. Cast chassis includes reinforcing ribs to further strengthen structure. Internals employ heavy duty gasket to prevent water, oil, or dust intrusion. Internal contact set employs single pole double throw (SPDT) switch assembly rated at 250VAC, it is used to control the motor start or stop.
● Chuck
Both front chuck and rear chuck are three-jaw chucks, which refer to a machine tool that uses the radial movement of three movable jaws evenly distributed on the chuck body to clamp and position the workpiece. It is used to fixed pipe when threading or grooving.
● Tripod stand
A tripod stand is a portable three-legged stand, used as a platform for supporting the weight and maintaining the stability of some other object. A tripod provides stability against downward forces and horizontal forces and movements about horizontal axes. The positioning of the three legs away from the vertical center allows the tripod better leverage for resisting lateral forces. It can be fold at will.
All in all, model 300 power drive is an electrical component. To prevent serious injury, proper assembly of the Power Drive is required. Workers must be familiar with instruction manual before using it.
